Program

LABI and BINA are collaborative network organizations that aim to improve and increase bioimaging capacities across the Americas and Caribbean region while promoting coordination and integration with the global bioimaging community. We work together to build community, strengthen career development of imaging scientists, and increase and democratize access to imaging resources, such as technology and training.

The joint event LABIxBINA2023 will take place on September 25th to 29th, in the Hotel Hacienda Vista Hermosa, Morelos, Mexico.

The LABI Meeting will focus on:

  • Sept 25 – Discuss the concepts of Core Facility and regional Hubs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Sept 26 – How to support imaging scientist’s professional development in Latin America

Joint Day – Sept 27, morning:

  • A networking morning at the local host institution: Laboratorio Nacional de MicroscopĂa Avanzada (LNMA, Universidad Nacional AutĂłnoma de MĂ©xico), where we will recognize the 10th Anniversary of its foundation and have the option to participate in an Exchange of Experience (EoE) around the image data lifecycle, tour the facility or have free time to explore Cuernavaca. A bus will take participants back to the Hacienda after lunch to kick off the BINA meeting that afternoon.

The BINA 2023 Community Congress will provide further exploration of topics raised during the LABI meeting:

  • Sept 27, afternoon – Training and Education Opportunities for Imaging Scientists
  • Sept 28 – Training and Education Opportunities for Imaging Scientists
  • Sept 29 – Technology Development & Applications, ends mid-day (followed by optional EoE)

We recommend this meeting for imaging scientists from all career levels working in academia and industry. You do not need to be a BINA or LABI member to attend the meeting, though it would be great to have you join BINA and/or LABI (both are free)!

Arrangements are being made for an Optional Local Tour on Sept 30 after the conclusion of the BINA Community Congress – more details coming soon (additional cost associated).

Please view the detailed calendar view of the program below, presented in Mexico City time/ US Mountain Time/ UTC -6
