2023 Leadership and Management Soft Skills training for Core Facility Managers/Directors

Recognizing the limited time and funds available to many of BINA’s core facility professionals to develop their leadership and management skills, we are offering an alternative opportunity this year that should provide greater flexibility on both these fronts. The training will focus on soft skills development for those in leadership and management roles and will be facilitated by The Soft Skills Group Inc. This training will not address management skills specific to imaging core facilities, but rather the more general skills someone in that role would benefit from acquiring – Negotiation, Time Management, Assertiveness and Confidence, Leadership, and Supervisory skills.

Each topic is offered independently over the course of 7 months and priced at $130 for each 3 hour workshop, payable via credit card only. Applications will close the Friday before final payment is due or once capacity is reached, whichever happens first.

Places will fill on a first come first served basis, with core facility personnel from Canada, Mexico and the US and its territories receiving preference, but those outside of North Americans may apply (see below).

Final payment for each course will be due 3 weeks prior to the start of the course and a waitlist will be maintained. Any registrants from outside of North America that have applied to participate will then be offered places in order of original registration time and will be expected to pay in full within 5 days of being notified of their place in order to secure their spot. All cancellations made anytime up until 3 weeks before the course starts will be refunded minus a 5% administrative fee. Refunds will not be issued if canceled within 2 weeks of the workshop start date.
